Tim Platts BSc, FCIOB (ex MCIPS)

A lifetime of experience in the construction industry and property sector.

TPPS’s passion for efficiency and productivity in business stems from its wide experience from major buildings, through to working with organisations from many areas of the world.

Previous clients:

From labouring on housing sites whilst at College to completing his degree under a John Laing articled sponsorship, he has worked mainly in Construction Contracting and spent the last 13 years in consultancy.

Tim has worked continuously in his consultancy for a wide range of clients, both blue chip and SME, including some of the world’s leading tech companies and a list of educational institutions at Further Education level (including being commissioned by University of Salford to author a paper on BIM in 2012) as well as working in a social business promoting a BIM curriculum in schools across the UK.

As a result Tim’s network is a wide and varied mix and with a plethora of experts from across the globe. Tim has specific experience working in the Middle East, UAE, Holland and Hong Kong

Inspired by his Laing O’Rourke colleagues’ interest in BIM, Tim became a leading early advocate in the BIM movement and was Chair of the much admired BIM4SME working group for the UK BIM Task Group between 2011-2016.

Tim has been involved in the CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building) and particularly in education since 2000. He gained his fellowship (FCIOB) in 2006.

In recent years, Tim has found himself in roles as diverse as running an Architects Practice to a Social Enterprise Education business.
